Indian Institute of Diabetes will organize a free medical camp and mass walk to observe the World Diabetes Day on November 14. The Kerala Medical Service Corporation will provide free diabetes drug to those who attend the medical camp in Thiruvananthapuram.
Mass Walk starts at 6.30am from Museum to VJT Hall
Sports Minister M. Vijayakumar will flag off a mass walk from the Museum grounds at 6 a.m. on November 14 as part of observance of International Diabetes Day by the Indian Institute of Diabetes.
The walk will culminate at the Martyrs’ Memorial at Palayam.
On that day free diabetes awareness/detection camps will be organised from 8 a.m. to 12 noon at the railway station, the office of the Indian Institute of Diabetes at Pulayanarkotta and on the Public Health Laboratory premises.
Free blood tests will be conducted from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Gandhi Park.
A health awareness exhibition ‘Know Diabetes’ will be organised at the Chandrasekharan Nair stadium from November 16 to 20.
The multimedia exhibition being jointly organised by the Medical Trust Hospital diabetes care centre, Pandalam, the Kesari Memorial Journalists’ Trust, the Sri Sathya Sai Orphanage Trust, the Executive Centre for Physiotherapy and the Chaithanya Eye Hospital and Research Institute will cover all basic facts on prevention, control and management of diabetes.
