Changes on Election ID card, like Correction, enrolment, or change of address, can be made online now at www.ceo.kerala.gov.in. Now the applicant does not have to leave his house to enrol or make changes of any kind in his election ID card.
Earlier, the process included going to Taluk office, writing an application, and being subjected to a hearing. This has been changed and now party need not visit any of the offices and even a hearing is avoided. The applicant can visitwww.ceo.kerala.gov.in and register himself. Print out of the application can be given to booth level officer (BLO) who will visit the applicant at his house. He will verify the documents and collect photocopies of the same along with the applicant’s signature. All these documents will be submitted to Taluk office. After studying the BLO’s report, Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) will take appropreate decision.
Once the applicant has registered himself, he will receive a confirmation sms which will also provide the details of the BLO concerned. At the same time, the same BLO will receive an sms with the applicant’s details. Thus the applicant can keep a track of his request through the website or by getting in touch with the concerned BLO. Also, applicant will be informed through sms on whether his request has been approved or denied after a decision has been made.
